BEATRICE, Neb., – Exmark has launched a new version of its Radius S-Series zero-turn riding mower that is equipped with a suspended platform. The new machine delivers a smoother ride to minimize operator fatigue, while maintaining the productivity, durability and cut quality.
The new suspended platform uses three independent coil-over dampers to isolate the cast aluminum operator platform from the mower chassis. With the capability of three inches of vertical travel, the suspended platform minimizes the effect of bumps and vibration on the operator. Exmark’s trailing arm design minimizes lateral movement of the suspended platform to increase operator stability.
Exmark Product Manager, Mike Mayfield, said the suspended platform-equipped Radius S-Series is designed to outperform competitive machines in ride quality, while still delivering Exmark’s signature quality of cut.
“The travel of the suspended platform travel is completely isolated from the cutting deck, so despite the increase in operator comfort, the quality of cut our customers expect is consistently maintained,” he said.
The suspended platform can be adjusted for operator weight and ride quality preferences with no tools required. The coil-over hydraulic dampers are designed to last the lifetime of the Radius S-Series machine. Suspended platform-equipped Radius S-Series models also include a 20-inch high back operator seat featuring plush foam padding supported by an Elastomeric Vibration Control (EVC) stretch fabric base.
Available with a choice of 48-, 52- or 60-inch UltraCut Series 3 cutting decks or a 60-inch rear-discharge cutting deck, the suspended platform-equipped Radius S-Series machines are powered by an air-cooled 708cc Exmark twin-cylinder engine and are capable of forward speeds of up to 9-mph. A heavy-duty canister air filtration system delivers increased performance and engine protection in dusty, dirty cutting conditions.
Exmark designed the Radius S-Series to be easy to maintain, with maintenance-free sealed bearing blade spindle assemblies, tools-free belt access, and an integrated oil drain hose for quick, clean oil changes. There are four grease points on the entire machine to reduce routine maintenance needs. An integrated jack receiver is welded to the frame for access to the underside of the cutting deck and Radius chassis when equipped with the Exmark jack accessory (sold separately).
