Fisher Engineering debuts plows at 2018 NTEA Work Truck Show

ROCKLAND, Maine – Fisher Engineering debuted several products during the 2018 NTEA Work Truck Show, including the launch of the HC Heavy Contractor plows and updates to its XLS expandable wing line of plows.

The HC Heavy Contractor plows fit up to a 27,500-pound GVW and are designed for heavy contractor work as well as municipal applications. The HC plow’s 11-gauge powder-coated steel blade is reinforced with eight vertical ribs. It also includes larger hydraulic rams, pins, gussets and hardware, plus a T-frame design with a massive center pin.

The plow stands 34-inches tall and comes in 9-foot and 10-foot widths, allowing it to clear large properties or long roads efficiently. The HC plows feature faster hydraulics than the prior models and a new oscillating A-frame for improved scraping and cutting-edge wear. The hydraulic systems are also built by Fisher Engineering specifically for Fisher plows. All critical components of the hydraulics are enclosed and protected from bad weather conditions.

The HC plow comes complete with user-friendly universal control options, the MinuteMount 2 snowplow mounting system, the Security Guard anti-theft system and other features. Customers can customize their HC plow with accessories, including snow deflectors, blade angle stops, shoe kits and cutting edges.

At the Work Truck Show, the company also announced updates to its XLS expandable wing line of plows. The XLS plows carry more snow with their new flared wings, which are expandable to help the operator maneuver confidently in areas like parking lots or alleys. The XLS snowplows are also now two inches taller, standing at 31-inches tall with flared wings rising up to 36 inches.

Fisher Engineering announced a new width of the XLS plow, now offering an 8-foot, 6-inches version of the plow, in addition to the updated 8-foot plow. The new, wider plow extends out to a full length of 11 foot, making it versatile enough to handle large snow removal tasks and fitting up to Class 6 trucks. That versatility is in the hands of the operator, with easy touch-button or joystick controls that change the position of each wing. The operator can switch the plow from scoop to windrow to straight blade from the driver’s seat.

The XLS plows are available in corrosion-resistant stainless steel. This finish gives snowplow operators extra options when deciding which plow works best with their fleet. The plows are also available in their yellow powder-coated steel. In addition, the XLS plows sport a trip edge design to protect the equipment in the event of an unseen obstacle. Only the bottom edge of the plow trips, so the blade stays upright and snow stays in front of the plow. For added strength, the new XLS plows are reinforced by 10 vertical ribs, a heavy-duty torque tube and a structurally reinforced slide box.
