James Martin Associates has awarded more than $24,000 in scholarships to students who have expressed a strong interest in pursuing careers in the landscape and horticulture industry.
As a member of The National Association of Landscape Professionals, James Martin Associates has always enjoyed the opportunity to collaborate with the foundation and help enrich the academic lives of students.
The 2016 James Martin Associates Scholarship recipient is Jacob McCallon, a student from Brigham Young University, Utah. He was awarded a $1000 scholarship. As a student supervisor for new landscape construction at BYU and an active member of the BYU Landscape Management Club, McCallon has a clear passion for the environment. Since 2013, McCallon has worked at BYU doing landscape installation including, constructing hardscapes, working with irrigation services and snow removal. In April 2017, McCallon will receive his B.S. in landscape management.
“If we can help students like Jacob achieve their goals, whether it is by educational enrichment or with hands on training, we will continue to do so,” said Jim Martin, president of James Martin Associates.
