CLCA chapter honors local projects

Twelve landscape contractors were honored at the East Bay chapter's 2016 Beautification Awards.

The East Bay chapter of the California Landscape Contractors Association (CLCA), recently held the 2016 Beautification Awards honoring 12 local landscape contractors for excellence in landscape installation and maintenance, and demonstrating the best quality, construction, originality and attention to detail on projects completed within the last year.  A total of 28 awards were presented in 28 categories culled from 51 entries, which encompassed residential and commercial landscape construction, maintenance and renovation, along with water features, outdoor lighting and water-saving California-friendly landscaping.  

 
The top awards were:    
• Sweepstakes Award for large design and build installation to Garden Lights Landscape Development, Inc. of Orinda for Bontemps Residence in Lafayette
• Sweepstakes Award for small residential maintenance to Suma Landscaping, Inc. of Oakland for the Mahler project in Alameda
• Judges Award for large residential installation to Rock Paper Scissors Landscape Design of Oakland for the Ramona Ave project in Piedmont
• Excelsior Award for small commercial maintenance to JJ&J Landscape Management of Fremont for the Atria Senior Living project in Lafayette
 
Multiple awards winners include (each received 2 to 3 awards): 
• Lazar Landscape Design & Construction of Oakland 
• Garden Lights Landscape & Pool Development of Orinda
• Past the Gate of Martinez
• Roxy Designs of Pleasant Hill 
• Suma Landscaping, Inc. of Oakland
 
Single award winners include: 
• Allied Landscape Services of Pleasanton
• Gachina Landscape Management of Menlo Park
• Jensen Landscape Services of San Jose
• Allied Landscape Services of Pleasanton
• Calvin Craig Landscaping of Pleasant Hill

Award entries are judged by a panel of expert CLCA members who closely inspected each nomination for the quality of workmanship and materials utilized. Each landscaping entry must adhere to industry standards and have demonstrated proper execution.
