Thieves steal equipment from Lawn Academy

Detroit-based Lawn Academy provides free lawn services to seniors, veterans and disabled residents.

DETROIT - Thieves stole lawn and snow removal equipment that teenagers in Lawn Academy use to help Detroit seniors, veterans and disabled residents. According to WDIV-TV in Detroit, cameras caught thieves cutting locks on July 18 and stealing $4,000 in items the teens use to help the community by providing free lawn care and snow removal services to those in need.

“I don’t see it as equipment,” Lawn Academy Founder Eric Miller said to WDIV-TV. “I see it as tools to teach young men and women.”

According to WDIV-TV, thieves stole all of Lawn Academy’s supplies.
