SnowWolf releases FlexFrame plow attachment

The redesigned A-Frame is available for SnowWolf's UltraPlow or QuattroPlow series.

BURNSVILLE, Minn. – SnowWolf has released the FlexFrame, a redesigned A-frame designed to allow the plow to move up and down with the contours of a surface while staying pressed down on the surface. The FlexFrame is available for the UltraPlow and QuattroPlow Series snow plows from SnowWolf.

The original A-frame design is rigid, keeping it at one set level. The FlexFrame design allows the plow to rise and fall with all the machine’s wheels riding on the ground.

“We make UltraPlow blades from 6 to 11 feet in length and the wings on a QuattroPlow add another four feet,” SnowWolf President and Product Development Manager Jerry Holman said. “As the blade gets longer and longer, low spots become more of a problem when your A-frame doesn’t allow the blade to float.”

To address the issue, SnowWolf incorporated patent-pending semi-floating torsion technology, previously incorporated into its FlexPlow. The FlexFrame system gives the equipment operator the ability to apply variable down pressure on the blade, from zero foot-pounds of pressure on up to as much as 1,500 ft. lbs. by rolling the attachment plate forward or backward — the system either exerts or releases pressure from the blade’s cutting edge.

The torsion system also flexes to provide cushioning in the event of an obstacle strike and provides built-in shock absorption when traveling between projects.

Customers who already own an UltraPlow or QuattroPlow can replace their frames by pulling two pins, removing the cylinders, setting the old frame aside, placing the new floating frame, reattaching the cylinders and reattaching the plow.

“We always want our customers to have the most advanced snow removal equipment on the market,” Holman said. “We design retrofits like this whenever possible so they can get it without seriously impacting their budgets.”
