WNLA, AmericanHort to co-host webinar on immigration

The webinar will discuss how horticulture businesses can meet I-9 immigration law compliance.


With business immigration audits and raids making national news, the Western Nursery & Landscape Association (WNLA) and AmericanHort plan to join forces to present a webinar on I-9 immigration law compliance on Aug. 22 at 1 p.m. EST.

Chris Schulte of CJ-Lake LLC and Craig Regelbrugge of AmericanHort will discuss recent employment-related immigration law enforcement trends and how horticulture businesses can best prepare. Schulte and CJ Lake LLC are nationally recognized for their legal expertise and accomplishments in agriculture and small business-related employment and immigration law and compliance.

At CJ Lake, Schulte advises and litigates on behalf of employers and employer associations on employment and business immigration matters, including wage and hour, H-2A and H-2B non-immigrant worker programs, and tax issues. He also works on public policy issues involving Congress and federal agencies on issues related to immigration, agriculture, insurance, clean energy, health care, environment and transportation. He serves as labor and employment law counsel to AmericanHort, the horticulture industry’s national trade organization.

Regelbrugge is the senior vice president of industry advocacy and research for AmericanHort. Regelbrugge has more than 28 years of horticulture industry experience and is an expert on governmental affairs, immigration law and horticultural research.

WNLA and AmericanHort’s webinar takes place at 1 p.m. EST on Aug. 22. The webinar is free for WNLA and AmericanHort members.
