Keith Freeman named COO

He will bring more than 25 years of experience to Canopy Lawn Care.

RALEIGH, N.C. – Canopy Lawn Care, announced that they have appointed Keith Freeman as the company’s chief operating officer and VP of customers.

Freeman, who is a graduate of UNC Chapel Hill, brings more than 25 years of landscaping industry experience and leadership to Canopy. Freeman’s accolades include more than 20 years of sales and marketing leadership with Trugreen brands, investments in other residential and commercial lawn care businesses, and featured articles in Lawn & Landscape Magazine.

“We are thrilled to have Keith on board,” said Hunt Davis, CEO of Canopy. “In addition to being a perfect fit to our company culture, his wealth of corporate experience in multi-market operation will be a huge asset to our expansion into Charlotte, North Carolina, as well as looking further down the road at our national scope and vision.”

Canopy has spent the last year and a half perfecting its model and growing exponentially in the Triangle region of North Carolina. With many self-contained lawn maintenance trailers now on the road, Canopy has nearly 40 employees, many of whom are their residential lawn maintenance crews.

By using technology, Canopy is able to create efficiencies in the scheduling and routing of their crews, in addition to offering customers a much more transparent and proactive communication and service experience. Customers can choose to receive notifications via email or SMS message when their jobs have been scheduled and their crew is en route to their home. This opens up the ability for them to instantly reply with particular concerns or requests for that day. Each customer also receives an after-service job summary report, with photos, so that they can see the work that has been performed, even if they are not home at the time of service.
