Houzz establishes scholarship program

Students can apply for 'Women in Architecture,' 'Residential Interior Design' and 'Sustainable Design' scholarships.

PALO ALTO, Calif. – Houzz has announced Houzz Scholarships, a program that supports the next generation of students studying architecture, interior design and landscape architecture.

Houzz will award three $2,500 scholarships in the categories of ‘Women in Architecture,’ ‘Residential Interior Design’ and ‘Sustainable Design.’ Houzz plans to award these scholarships biannually in the spring and fall, and is now accepting applications for Spring 2017.

High school seniors, undergraduates and graduate students 17 years of age or older are invited to apply at houzz.com/scholarships. In addition to submitting a brief essay on their design and architecture influences, students are invited to create a Houzz professional student profile, where they can showcase their portfolio of work and network with more than a million professionals around the world. The deadline for the Spring 2017 scholarships is Dec. 15.

“Supporting future architects and designers is one powerful way to contribute to the growth and health of our industry and in particular our amazing professional community,” said Liza Hausman, VP industry marketing at Houzz. “We have always worked to increase global appreciation of great design and the talent and expertise that bring it to life, so it’s natural for us to help deserving students achieve their goals by pursuing architecture and design degrees.”
