KENT, Ohio – The Davey Tree Expert Company has promoted Rick Orwig to district manager of Davey’s North Virginia East Residential/Commercial (R/C) services office.
“Rick’s diverse experience, calm demeanor and deeply rooted care for employees and clients makes him the perfect person for this position,” said Phil Snyder, vice president, East Atlantic, R/C services. “These characteristics combined with his previous leadership experience will serve him well as he takes on this next challenge of his career.”

Orwig started his career with Davey in the Gaithersburg, Maryland residential office when Davey acquired The Care of Trees in 2003. In 2008, Orwig was promoted to district manager of Davey’s Mid Atlantic Tree Preservation & Land Restoration office.
Orwig is an International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Certified Arborist and holds an ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualified (TRAQ) certification. He is also a Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA) Certified Treecare Safety Professional (CTSP).
