Senske Lawn & Tree Care acquired the assets of LawnTech, a lawn and tree care and pest control provider based in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Brothers Kim and Kurt Johnson started the company in 1982. Since that time, LawnTech has grown to become a specialist for tree care, lawn care, pest control, pruning, and landscaping in the area. Services will continue uninterrupted by the current team of employees doing business as LawnTech.
According to Kim and Kurt Johnson, “We felt Senske was a good fit for our customers. They share the same customer service, customer first attitude that has kept us going since 1982. Our employees are like family and knowing that Senske has been family owned for over 70 years means a lot.”
Senske President Chris Senske said this was Senske's first acquisition of 2018. As a result of the acquisition, Senske will now have three locations in Idaho. The company ranked 67th on Lawn & Landscape's Top 100 list in 2018 with about $27.9 million in annual revenue.
Senske said LawnTech had about 40 employees, and that all employees were invited to join the Senske team. Senske said LawnTech will also retain its name at the Idaho Falls location. He added that he could not disclose the company's revenue or any other terms of the deal at this point.
"(LawnTech) was a good-sized business," he said. "They're market dominant where they're at, so it was a good-sized deal for us anyway. This was a large enough deal that we'll be probably taking a break the rest of the year to regroup and make sure this goes well and is integrated possibly. We want to make sure the integration goes smoothly and that we're able to start to build on the customer base they already have. We look forward to expanding into eastern Idaho. We continuously look to merge with high-quality companies who share our goals, principles
“With nearly 40 years of experience, we are lucky to have their team join the Senske family as we continue to grow and expand in the four states that we currently serve,” says Bjorn Gjerde, CFO at Senske who spearheads the company's mergers and acquisitions.
