Greenworks unveils battery-powered UTV

Along with the UTV launch, the company entered the snow market and expanded its 82V line.

Greenworks Commercial unveiled its latest battery-powered innovations at GIE+EXPO. The latest from the company is a UTV in the 82V line. The two UTVs, the Stealth and Stealth Crew HD, run on a 13.8kwh 80v lithium-ion battery. The models reach top speeds of 35mph and run 90 miles on a full charge.

“We were absolutely blown away by the industry’s reception for our first Lithium Zs earlier this summer,” said Tony Marchese, director of independent retail – Greenworks North America.  “As impressive as those machines are, we realized that we were really just scratching the surface in terms of the versatility that lithium-ion vehicles can bring to the OPE industry.”

The UTVs offer an entry point into a new market for the equipment company as they see potential for camo wraps for hunters. “It’s quiet, it’s durable, hunters will love it,” Marchese said.

Release dates will be Q2 of 2019 for the Stealth HD and Q3 of 2019 for the Stealth.

Greenworks launched its first commercial snow thrower as well, marking its entrance into the snow market.

The Greenworks Commercial SN-220 22” Snow Thrower is powered by the brand’s proprietary lithium-ion 82-volt battery system. Operators can utilize the same battery as their other equipment through the changing seasons. Some features include:

  • Brushless motor for higher efficiency, excellent controllability and more power
  • Dual Battery Port with automatic switchover for extended run-time
  • 22” clearing width and 12.5” clearing depth
  • An all-aluminum handle
  • Rubber and steel augers to easily slice through hard-packed snow and ice
  • 180-degree Directional Chute Control easily allows changes to snow throwing direction on the fly, and 25 ft. max discharge

The SN-220 will be available through dealer channels in November.

The company also built upon its commercial-grade Lithium Z zero turn family, with the introduction of a 52” 52R ride-on mower that offers the same performance and run-time in a slightly smaller, nimbler package.  In addition, the company will introduce a 52” 52S stand-on model offering the same versatility and performance of the 48S with a 4” larger cutting deck.

The 52R and 52S will offer users up to 4.5 and 6 hours of cutting time. All four models are powered by an 82-volt 13.8kW lithium-ion battery and feature three 1.5KW Brushless Blade Motors and two 1.7KW Brushless Drive Motors. The batteries are all UL certified.

“The Greenworks objective is to make those landscaper’s lives easier and help them deliver to their neighborhoods in a cost-effective and environmentally friendly way," said Yin Chen, chairman of Greenworks.
