A real scorcher

This “hot” Georgia-based design/build project was already on a tight timeline, but the southern heat made it even harder to stay on schedule.

As Carter Land Services began this project in the spring of 2023, the team quickly adapted to the unique challenges of the coastal Georgia climate, completing it by the summer of 2023. One of the most significant hurdles was the intense heat, which affected team members on-site and the plant material being used. To ensure the plants’ and large trees’ health and vitality, Carter Land Services set up temporary water stations throughout the site for constant hydration.

With a tight timeline, the project required precise coordination and efficient teamwork. The company collaborated with its sister company, Golden Sea Outdoors, to manage the pool construction and surrounding hardscape. At the same time, the Carter team concentrated on the front hardscaping, including the brick and gravel driveway and the motor court. This collaborative effort allowed our hardscape, pool construction and landscape teams to work concurrently, ensuring the project stayed on track.

The four-month project resulted in a stunning transformation. The expansive green space in the backyard, framed by a picturesque lake backdrop, is crucial. The front driveway and motor court offer a grand entrance to the property. However, the project’s centerpiece is the exquisitely designed pool and pool deck, which blend seamlessly with the landscape. This project met the client’s vision and exceeded expectations, making it one of the company’s favorite undertakings.
