Specticle G herbicide label update approved by CDPR

CARY, N.C. – The Environmental Science unit of Bayer, part of the company’s Crop Science division, has announced The California Department of Pesticide Regulation (CDPR) approved an updated state registration for Specticle G herbicide. With this approval, the updated Specticle G label is now registered in all states, except Alaska.

“Our team at Bayer is thrilled with the Specticle G label update,” said John Wendorf, customer marketing manager for Bayer Lawn and Ornamentals. “Landscape managers in California now have the ability to do more with their weed control thanks to the long-lasting residual power of Specticle G, which will help them save time, fuel and labor by reducing the number of treatments needed to achieve optimal results.”

Key changes to the Specticle G product label include:

• More weeds controlled or suppressed: Includes 15 new additions for a total of 98 weeds
• More tolerant ornamentals listed: Now includes 281 plants, up from 122 plants
• Fewer restrictions: Only 10 plants on the “do not use” list, down from 29 plants
• Allows for testing of non-listed ornamentals: For plants that aren't named on the label, the user can trial Specticle G to evaluate for acceptable plant tolerance
• Also labeled for use in natural areas
  

Specticle G offers up to six months of broad-spectrum control of 98 grasses, broadleaf weeds and sedges. It can be applied in landscape beds, in mulched areas and around ornamentals.
