It is an honor for The Toro Company to sponsor the Lawn & Landscape Top 100 list. We take pride in supporting this opportunity to recognize leaders in the field whose stories inspire us all. Success truly is contagious when you surround yourself with positive examples, and you’ll find them in this report.
As landscape industry professionals, we share a common goal – not only to create beautiful landscapes but also to care for the land and its resources. Whether it’s a plant or a business, the work and care you put in is reflected in how it grows.
The stories in this issue are a perfect example of how the choices you make can lead to vibrant futures, and we congratulate all of this year’s landscape companies on their continued success.
This year’s Lawn & Landscape Top 100 list is based on 2017 revenue from landscape profit centers, as reported by each of the listed companies. The companies on this list earned a combined revenue of $9,618,690,107 in 2017, which is an increase of $456,846,983, or 5 percent, over 2016. Companies on the list also reported total employment (seasonal plus year-round employees) of 102,760. Based on the data, the average growth expected in 2018 is 9 percent.
The list includes companies from 27 states and four firms in Canada. From the oldest company, Davey Tree Expert Company, founded in 1880, to the youngest company, Heartland, founded in 2016, they represent a lot of experience and innovative thinking.
Success is truly contagious when you surround yourself with positive examples.
We at Toro share that spirit of innovation, building on more than 100 years of history by looking toward the future and listening to our customers. We never stop working to develop new features and products that help landscape contractors save time and be more productive and profitable. Toro equipment helps empower contractors to be more productive every day.
For example, our new Z Master 7500-D Series provides best-in-class productivity even in the most challenging mowing conditions. And all of our products are backed by local dealers who are committed to helping customers grow their business with the right equipment, service and support.
We hope this year’s Top 100 report gives you a pulse on the strength of the industry and a positive outlook for what’s ahead. As always, we are here to serve you with the equipment you need and wish you much success. Take care and keep growing in 2018!
