The Davey Tree Expert Company has promoted Kyle Celmer to vice president, Davey Business Development Team.

In his new role, Celmer will work to build Davey's national sales presence with the direct support of the marketing team. He will continue to lead a strategic business development team focused on cultivating Davey relationships across service lines, contributing significant development to company goals and overall growth.

“Throughout his career, Kyle has been a successful problem solver, leveraging a robust Davey IQ and a strategic operational mindset,” says Pat Covey, chairman, president and CEO of Davey Tree. “His ability to foster a strong culture and galvanize a team around a goal or challenge is exceptional. His unique perspective and leadership qualities will help us build relationships and foster company growth.”

In 2003, Celmer began his Davey career as a golf course superintendent in the Commercial Landscape Services service line. In 2012, he transitioned to the Residential/Commercial service line as district manager of Davey’s West Cleveland office. In 2017, the Davey Business Development Team started, and Celmer became a project developer before being promoted in 2021 to operations manager.

Celmer is a graduate of The Ohio State University with an associate’s degree in applied science and turfgrass management. He is also a graduate of the Davey Institute of Grounds Management, which is Davey’s flagship training program designed to ensure Davey field personnel are armed with the latest information about landscape and grounds management.

Celmer was named Professional of the Year for Davey Golf in 2003-2005 and in 2024 began a three-year term with the Davey President’s Council, a rotating team of managers who meet semiannually for management development and to share ideas to improve the company.
