Delaware Valley Turf has acquired Emerald Green Lawns. The transaction closed on December 24.
Emerald Green Lawns, located in Middletown, Delaware, was founded in the early 2000s as a small lawn fertilizing company. The owner sought guidance from Tom Roth, an expert in nutrient management and farm operations, which helped the company grow steadily. By 2006, the company had over 300 customers, and the founder offered to sell the business to Tom and his wife, Sharon.
Sharon led operations and customer service, while Tom’s lawn care expertise fueled rapid expansion. Their two sons soon became involved in the company playing a crucial role as the company expanded. They introduced new systems like charge card payments, auto-pay, and online customer account management.
“Working with Bob and the team at Cetane made our transition smooth and effortless," Tom says. "We are extremely satisfied with the result and confident that Emerald Green Lawns is in excellent hands with the new owners.”
Delaware Valley Turf, located in Broomall, Pennsylvania, provides lawn care and pest control services to residential and commercial customers in northern Delaware and the Philadelphia metro. Delaware Valley Turf is a brand of LawnPro Partners, a platform focused on residential lawn care treatment and tree, shrub and pest control services.
Cetane Associates served as the sole arranger and financial advisor to Emerald Green Lawns. Cetane advised on the sale, including an initial valuation opinion, marketing the business through a confidential process, assisting in negotiating the final deal terms, and coordinating the due diligence process. Team members Bob Williamson, Ford DuBose, Fred Lord, And Dalton Brooks managed the transaction.
Bob Williamson, Pest & Lawn Director at Cetane, stated, “Congratulations to Tom and Sharon. They built and ran a wonderful business. It was a pleasure working them and we wish them all the best.”
