Exmark unveiled its all-new 2025 Lazer Z family of commercial zero-turn riding mowers at the Equip Exposition trade show in Louisville, Kentucky. The new models come 30 years after Exmark’s launch of the original Lazer Z in 1995.
Exmark can be found at booth 7080 and 7444D outdoors.
“Armed with the feedback of our customers, we developed a new Lazer Z family that raises the bar for reliability, cut quality and value at every model level,” says Jamie Briggs, director of marketing. “Each customer’s needs are unique, so we worked hard to ensure each Lazer Z model delivers the performance, durability and uptime productivity they need, with the distinct features they want.”
Landscapers can choose from 52-, 60-, or 72-inch UltraCut Series 6 side discharge cutting decks, or select the 96-inch UltraCut Rear Discharge Flex-Wing cutting deck. Side-discharge cutting decks feature Exmark’s Adapt technology, which enables the operator to quickly adjust deck rake without tools.
Lazer Z X-Series models reach ground speeds up to 12 mph forward on models up to 72-inch, and up to 10.5 mph on the 96-inch model. Heavy-duty cast caster wheel forks deliver maximum durability and precise alignment, while the large-diameter airless caster tires provide a smooth ride and long life with zero flat tires.
The Lazer Z X-Series have just four annual grease points, automatic belt tensioners and sealed maintenance-free spindles. A redesigned seat mount improves access to the front of the engine and hydro drive components, while the rear engine guard removes with just four bolts for easier engine access.
For 2025, Exmark added standard LED lighting to the front and sides of the mower as well.
Meanwhile, the Lazer Z S-Series is available with a wide range of cutting decks, including 52-, 60-, or 72-inch UltraCut Series 4 side-discharge, or 60- or 72-inch UltraCut Rear-Discharge cutting decks. Choose from carbureted Kawasaki or EFI Kohler V-Twin commercial engines. The on-board diagnostics give the operator clear visibility of vital functions, including an electronic fuel gauge, battery voltage warning, hour meter and OPC safety switch monitoring. A large 12-gallon single fuel tank provides extended runtimes between fill-ups.
With an all-new design for 2025, the Lazer Z E-Series is the most affordable model in the Lazer Z family. With a choice of 48-, 52-, or 60-inch UltraCut Series 4 cutting decks, and heavy-duty Kawasaki and Vanguard engine options, the company says it’s the most powerful, productive Lazer Z E-Series yet. A new discharge chute design provides more even distribution of clippings.
A new suspension seat increases operator comfort, and the new unibody frame design eases maintenance access to the engine and hydro drive system. It's designed with just two annual grease points and sealed bearing spindles that never require greasing.
To round out the Lazer Z lineup, Exmark offers both the electric-powered Lazer Z V-Series and the diesel-powered Lazer Z models, with cutting widths ranging from 60-inches on the electric to 60-, 72-, 96 and 144-inches on the diesel.
Also revealed at Equip was Exmark's first commercial autonomous mower, the Turf Tracer with XiQ. Designed to help ease the labor issues that many landscape contractors face, Turf Tracer with XiQ delivers supervised autonomy with a fully integrated high integrity safety system.
According to Exmark Senior Autonomous Program Manager, Jeremy Tate, the Turf Tracer with XiQ enables crews to do more, more efficiently.
“With the ability to mow in manual or autonomous modes, Turf Tracer with XiQ provides increased flexibility, productivity and profitability for landscape professionals,” Tate says. “The XiQ technology package provides state-of-the-art location and safety systems to ensure reliable operation with easy mapping of properties.”
Developed over more than four years, the XiQ technology package integrates high-precision GNSS and RTK location technologies with ISO-certified radar detection to detect obstacles and prevent collisions. The mapping technology makes it easy to create and store property profiles, and each profile is stored online for quick and easy recall on all autonomous units in a customer’s fleet.
While the Turf Tracer with XiQ is capable of operating on its own using its integrated full-color 4.3-inch display, Exmark has developed a mobile app for Android and iOS. It allows operators to store property maps and manage their autonomous fleet, and also provides live machine status updates in real time.
The integrated safety system offers audible and visual alarms to aid in safe operation, as well as collision avoidance, and PTO and ground drive monitoring. In addition, a full-color 4.3-inch display delivers comprehensive machine status data without the need to open the app.
Equipped with a 60-inch UltraCut Series 4 cutting deck, the Turf Tracer with XiQ also has its fabricated and fully welded construction. The Kohler Command Pro EFI ECV749 twin-cylinder engine sips fuel yet makes quick work of even the largest mowing jobs.
The Turf Tracer with XiQ is built on Exmark’s proven Turf Tracer chassis, so controls and feel will be familiar to many operators, and a Stand-on is included to quickly map properties. The electric ground drive system provides heightened mower control and is powered by an engine-driven generator.
Exmark is set to launch the Turf Tracer with XiQ in 2025.
