Exmark unveils new turf equipment brand and models

The line-up features new lean-to-steer spreader sprayer and updated Z-Spray machines.

Z Turf Equipment ¬– the new parent brand of Z-Spray lawn care equipment – unveiled its complete 2020 line of commercial lawn care equipment. Highlights include a new Z-Spray LTS spreader sprayer and updated Z-Spray and Z-Aerate machines.

The new Z-Spray LTS spreader sprayer is based on Exmark’s stand-on spreader sprayer design, updated with new spread and spray controls for easier, more precise application settings. The new controls increase application precision for optimal results and reduced material waste. Constant agitation in the tank ensures materials are kept in suspension for consistent spray performance, even when using wettable powders and other dry-flowable materials.

The lean-to-steer design enables the operator to control speed and direction with one hand, which frees the other hand to adjust spread or spray controls, or perform spot treatments with the easy-to-access spray wand. The intuitive control layout makes the machine easy to operate and make adjustments on the fly.

A Spyker spreader system features an adjustable spinner speed, and is capable of broadcasting dry materials between four and 22 feet. The hopper can carry up to 175 pounds of material, with space to carry up to 50 pounds of bagged material atop the tank.
The spray system features separate, selectable narrow (5.5 feet) and wide (11 feet) spray nozzles, making it versatile enough to be used on nearly any property.

The 20-gallon tank is easy to fill and drain, with molded-in graduations for accurate mixing. Two induction nozzles inside the tank provide constant agitation of the spray mixture for unmatched consistency.

Other features of the Z-Spray LTS spreader sprayer include a corrosion-resistant stainless steel main frame and powder coated control tower, stainless steel operator platform, with isolation mounts for a more comfortable ride, and a single-cylinder Subaru EX27 commercial engine.

Exmark has expanded its line of 30-inch walk-behind mowers with the introduction of its new Commercial 30 X-Series model. With a new, more powerful engine and transmission, the Commercial 30 X-Series gives landscape maintenance professionals a more productive option, ideal for smaller properties.

According to Exmark Product Manager, Lenny Mangnall, the Commercial 30 X-Series is an evolution of the company’s original Commercial 30 model, introduced in 2013.

“With 40-percent more cut area per pass than the industry-standard 21-inch walk-behind mower, our Commercial 30 quickly found favor with landscape contractors looking to get jobs done faster without sacrificing cut quality. The new Commercial 30 X-Series takes that proven formula to the next level with Kohler’s premier single-cylinder commercial engine - the Command Pro CV200, along with a powerful transmission, for increased performance and durability.”

The increased displacement of the powerful Kohler engine gives it 30-percent more torque than competing engines to quickly power through the toughest, thickest grass. Other notable features of the CV200 engine include cast iron cylinder liners, dual splash and pressurized lubrication, and Quad-Clean air filtration for enhanced protection from debris and contaminants. Cast aluminum oil and air filter bases, along with a steel blower housing provide increased durability in tough conditions. The engine is protected by Kohler’s three-year limited commercial warranty.

Exmark upgraded the transmission on the Commercial 30 X-Series to make the most of the Kohler engine’s additional power. It delivers increased wheel torque to power up hills, with easier tracking on side hills. The positive drive design couples both drive wheels for maximum traction in all conditions, with infinitely variable ground speed up to 3.8mph.The heavy-duty wet clutch transmission and self-tensioning belt drive are designed for minimum maintenance and maximum reliability in the most demanding commercial applications. The Commercial 30 X-Series also includes a parking brake.

The 4.6-inch deep, 30-inch wide cutting deck delivers Exmark’s signature cut quality, with a compact design to enhance maneuverability. The 3-in-1 design offers the ability to quickly change from side discharge, to bagging or mulching, without tools, and the compact deck enhances maneuverability in tight spaces.

The efficiency of the timed, two-blade cutting system reduces power requirements. The simple timing belt system maintains blade position and isolates the engine from shock load. A shear pin on each blade driver provides additional impact protection, with simple replacement in the event of an impact. Exmark’s heavy-duty spindle assemblies feature robust ball bearings, forged spindles and die-cast housings for maximum durability with minimal maintenance.

Exmark offers a mulch kit for the Commercial 30 X-Series, which optimizes mulching performance in tough conditions such as wet, heavy grass. The kit can also function as a fill-reduction kit when operating with a bagger, which increases productivity by reducing the need to stop and empty the bag.

Exmark adds new airless tractus tire and wheel combo.  Designed to eliminate the flat tires that increase downtime, Tractus is available as an accessory for select Exmark Lazer Z zero-turn mower models.

According to Exmark Director of Marketing, Jamie Briggs, the Tractus tire and wheel combination is the result of a multi-year development process involving testing both in-house and in the field.

“Offering an airless tire and wheel combination that raises the bar in every area compared to traditional pneumatic tires is a big challenge,” Briggs said. “Our customers rely on our equipment to perform every day, so we exhaustively tested Tractus in the Exmark test lab, and in real-world conditions.

“The result is a tire and wheel combination that eliminates flat tires, increases traction and offers longer service life. In use, Tractus also provides more consistent ground pressure with a larger contact patch for reduced turf compaction and a better overall cut quality.”

Exmark designed the Tractus tire and wheel combination to offer a similar ride quality to a pneumatic tire. This increases operator comfort, while the proven tread design offers superior traction in a wide range of turf conditions, with reduced marking when turning on concrete.

96-Inch Lazer Z X-series zero-turn riding mower. Exmark has launched the new 96-inch Lazer Z X-Series model, its largest gasoline-powered commercial zero-turn mower. Capable of cutting up to nine acres per hour, the 96-inch Lazer Z X-Series provides the increased productivity necessary to get jobs done more quickly and profitably.

“Landscape maintenance professionals need mowers that enable each worker to get more work done, faster, with reduced maintenance and service-related downtime,” said Exmark Director of Marketing, Jamie Briggs. “The 96-inch Lazer Z X-Series leverages Exmark’s latest innovations to give our customers a powerful new option that mows faster, with increased operator comfort and maximum reliability in the field.”

The rear-discharge UltraCut flex wing cutting deck features a full-floating 48-inch center deck with two 24-inch wing decks, for a total of 96-inches of cut width. Both wing decks can flex up to 20-degrees up and 15-degrees down, which minimizes scalping and increases productivity in undulating terrain. A hydraulic deck lift offers the ability to raise or lower the wing decks to ease loading and minimize trailering space. As a result, the 96-inch Lazer Z X-Series fits on trailers capable of handling a 72-inch zero-turn mower.

Exmark designed the UltraCut flex wing deck to use four matching blades, which eases service and delivers the company’s signature cut quality in a wide range of mowing conditions. The deck is also designed to deliver unmatched mulching performance and is equipped with a factory-installed mulch kit.
“The productivity and versatility of the 96-inch Lazer Z X-Series makes it a great solution for municipalities, universities, commercial complexes, large residences, or other sizable areas,” Briggs said.

A durable air-cooled Kohler EFI commercial engine powers the 96-inch Lazer Z X-Series. Exmark incorporated a number of innovations to further increase reliability and longevity through reduced operating temperatures, including an external oil cooler and an engine hood designed to screen intake air coming into the engine. This provides it with an ample supply of cool, clean air, while reducing the potential for debris build-up around cooling fins.

Patented RED Technology works with the Kohler engine’s electronic governor, now utilizing an electronic throttle body (ETB),  to virtually eliminate the governor lag associated with traditional mechanical governors.

This increased responsiveness allows operation at a lower, more fuel-efficient RPM level without compromising productivity or cut quality. RED Technology constantly monitors machine health, delivering on-screen service alerts and productivity data to maximize uptime and encourage proper maintenance of the machine.

Exmark engineers optimized weight balance in the 96-inch Lazer Z X-Series chassis to provide stable, responsive handling in varied conditions. The chassis is constructed of formed, welded and fully reinforced 3/16” walled, high-strength tubular steel, with a cast engine cradle for ultimate long-term durability. Exmark’s unitized hydro pump and motors eliminate hoses to provide maximum efficiency and reliability in the field.

The 96-inch Lazer Z X-Series increases operator comfort through reduced exposure to bumps and vibrations. Isolation mounts under the seat base provide three-dimensional isolation from vibration transmitted through the mower frame.

The full-suspension operator seat provides all-day comfort thanks to Exmark’s scissor link ball-bearing suspension system, Elastomeric Vibration Control (EVC) stretch fabric base and custom seat cushion foam.
