Today at the Equip Exposition, Exmark unveiled the latest addition to its commercial walk-behind mower line –– the electric Commercial 30 V- Series. Powered by three 60V Flex-Force batteries, the Commercial 30 V-Series delivers Exmark’s signature cut quality, with extended runtime, quick charging and reduced sound output.
Exmark Director of Marketing, Jamie Briggs, says the electric Commercial 30 V-Series is built to the same commercial standards as the company’s gas-powered models.
“We use the same reinforced high-strength steel cutting deck, wheels, height-of-cut system, wear- reducing bumpers and wear bars as on our gas-powered Commercial 30 models,” Briggs says. “The result is the most durable and productive commercial electric walk-behind mower available today.”
With the ability to mow more than one acre in a single charge of the triple Flex-Force batteries, the Commercial 30 V-Series is capable of running for up to an hour and twenty minutes. Plus, the included rapid charger can charge one battery to 90% in just ninety minutes.
Thanks to its reduced sound output, the Commercial 30 V-Series can mow virtually any time of day, extending potential work hours. And with the ability to bag, mulch or side-discharge clippings, the Commercial 30 V-Series is as versatile as it is productive. Exmark’s patented front height adjustment system enables quick, easy cut height adjustments from 1.0-inches to 4.5-inches, in half-inch increments.
With easy push button starting, the Commercial 30 V-Series offers the choice of low- or high-settings for the powertrain, delivering 3.1- or 4.2-mph based on the selected setting. The heavy-duty wet clutch transmission and self-tensioning belt drive are the same as on gas-powered Commercial 30 models, delivering positive ground drive to both rear wheels.
Additionally, Exmark unveiled a new electric version of its Lazer Z zero-turn riding mower. The new Lazer Z V-Series delivers the performance, cut quality and long-term durability Exmark owners expect, with reduced noise output and zero engine exhaust emissions.
“We designed the Lazer Z V-Series to deliver the commercial performance and durability our customers expect,” Briggs says. “It enables them to compete for virtually any commercial mowing contract without equipment-imposed limitations. For a growing number of contractors across the country, that’s a very big deal.”
The Lazer Z V-Series is powered by the HyperCell power system. When combined with Exmark’s patent-pending battery management system (BMS), the HyperCell power system is capable of delivering up to 7+ hours of runtime per charge. For most contractors, that equates to a full day of mowing.
The Adapt-equipped 60-inch Electric Series 4 cutting deck uses three high-torque commercial electric blade motors to provide instant torque and eliminate all belt-related maintenance and service needs. The electric cutting deck offers the ability to vary blade tip speed to match cutting conditions or preserve battery power. Plus, the Adapt system enables quick, tools-free deck rake adjustment to optimize efficiency and cut quality in a wide range of turf conditions.
Standard Horizon360 Connect remote software enables full app-based connectivity to mower settings, location and data, so it’s easy to check mower status from virtually anywhere.
Exmark also unveiled its complete 2024 line of Vertex stand-on commercial mowers. Larger Vertex X-Series and compact Vertex E-Series machines have been added to the line. The new models join Exmark’s existing Vertex S-Series and electric Vertex V-Series models for the new year.
Briggs says the new machines expand the Vertex line, with a complete range of models in cut widths from 32- to 72-inches.
“Our customers were very happy with the Vertex models we launched last year,” Briggs says. “Our most common customer feedback was that they wished there was a wider range of Vertex models, so that’s what we focused on delivering in 2024.”
Vertex X-Series
The new Vertex X-Series raises the bar for Exmark stand-on mower power and productivity, thanks to an available 72-inch UltraCut Series 6 cutting deck. It enables contractors to mow more than 7 acres per hour and do it all day thanks to the generous 14-gallons of fuel capacity. Plus, with the same formed and welded tubular steel frame and heavy-duty 15-inch caster wheels and tires as Exmark’s premier Lazer Z zero-turn riding mowers, Vertex X-Series models provide superior commercial durability.
With Kawasaki FX1000 engines, Vertex X-Series delivers the power to finish jobs faster, with a better quality of cut thanks to Exmark’s unmatched UltraCut Series 6 cutting decks. In addition to the 72-inch model, Exmark also offers Vertex X-Series with 52- or 60-inch cutting decks.
The wide, stable design of the Vertex X-Series features large 24-inch drive tires for increased traction, reduced turf compaction and increased ride quality. The operator-focused control center optimizes operator control and comfort, with a bolstered operator pad and suspended operator platform that’s located low and centered between the rear wheels.
Vertex E-Series
Exmark’s new Vertex E-Series compact stand-on mower is a more productive option for gated back yards and other areas with limited access, when compared with a walk-behind mower. Available with 32- or 36-inch UltraCut Series 3 cutting decks, Vertex E-Series is ideal for contractors that maintain small- to mid-sized properties. It provides versatility, maneuverability and quality of cut.
Powered by an electric start, twin-cylinder Kawasaki FS600V commercial engine, Vertex E-Series models use HydroGear pumps and Parker wheel motors to deliver ground speeds of up to 7.5mph forward. The dual-action controls provide quick, responsive control in any conditions, and the single- point cut height adjustment system quickly and accurately sets deck height from 1.0- to 4.5-inches, in .25-inch increments.
Vertex S-Series
The Vertex S-Series model carries through to 2024, giving landscape contractors a versatile, productive mid-sized stand-on commercial mower that’s built to go the distance. Vertex S-Series models are available with a choice of 48-, 52-, or 60-inch UltraCut Series 4 cutting decks. A choice of carbureted Kawasaki or EFI Kohler engines deliver power though Exmark’s proven hydro drive system to deliver ground speeds of up to 8.5-mph.
Vertex V-Series
Exmark leverages the HyperCell Power System to power the electric Vertex V-Series mowers. Patent- pending management software optimizes performance for the conditions and delivers up to 7 hours of runtime per charge. The Vertex V-Series uses commercial high-torque wheel motors working with a planetary transmission to deliver a smooth, responsive feel at the controls and ground speed of up to 10 mph. Exmark offers the Vertex V-Series with a 52-inch Electric Series 4 side-discharge cutting deck. The high-torque deck motors feature a 9-inch diameter cast aluminum spindle housings with blade retainers for maximum commercial durability.
Each Vertex model features a design that places the heaviest components low in the chassis to improve stability, maneuverability and traction. Vertex models are engineered to run all season without maintenance, virtually eliminating productivity killing in-season downtime. And when maintenance is needed, Exmark makes it easier with a magnetic operator pad that’s removable without tools, and an open architecture that offers easier access to engine and hydro drive system components.
