Four Minnesota John Deere Dealerships Announce Merger

Family-owned businesses merge to better serve customer base.

Four west central Minnesota John Deere dealerships have recently announced their merger into a new entity — Amundson Peterson, Inc. The four dealerships: Stevens County Equipment, Morris; Swift County Equipment, Benson; Madison Implement, Madison; and, Amundson Equipment, Elbow Lake, combine more than 40 years of commitment to the farm equipment business with the Peterson and Amundson families. The two families also share similar histories and experience, which they feel when combined, will make the business stronger.

In a joint statement to their customers, the business partners said that customers will continue to work with the same people they have worked with for years.

“This union is an important step toward the long-term stability of each of the businesses,” the statement continued, adding, “As our industry has changed, you (the customer), have increased your expectations of us. Our new organization will be able to meet your needs.”

Amundson Peterson, Inc. will have more service technicians with specialized training, their parts inventory availability will increase by three to four times what is it now, there will be more new and used equipment to choose from, and more specialists in more product lines.

“This will also provide more opportunities for our employees as well,” the merger statement added.

The partners said they are excited about these changes and truly feel this merger offers the best long-term solution for the businesses as well as their customers’ farms, irrigation, tire and consumer product needs.

“Amundson Peterson promises to always give our best effort when taking care of your equipment, parts and service needs.”
