Groundwork raises $1 million in pre-seed funding

The Groundwork team will use the funding to further develop collaboration functionality and make key hires in sales, marketing and product.

Groundwork, a lead qualification software for residential contractors, raised $1 million in pre-seed funding.

The round was completed earlier this year and was led by Jason Calacanis’ LAUNCH Fund with participation from I2BF Global Ventures, construction industry executives, and angel investors.

Led by Jeff Wraley, Groundwork is a lead qualification and sales software for home improvement contractors. The software makes it easy for contractors to get high-quality project videos from homeowners before an in-person sales appointment, allowing contractors to pre-qualify leads and build trust with prospective customers virtually. Its additional features enable contractors to run a streamlined and modern sales process that emphasizes customer experience. Groundwork is integrated with many of the leading software systems that contractors already use for lead generation and project management.

Groundwork’s customers in many different trade categories – including landscaping, painting, remodeling, and HVAC – have received a total of over 50,000 homeowner project videos.

“We are more excited than ever to be building tools that bring world-class customer experience to home improvement contractors. These small business owners are looking for ways to stand out, to be memorable, and to find efficiency in their business processes. That’s exactly what we allow them to do,” says CEO Jeff Wraley.
