GW Capital adds Irrigation Works + Outdoor Lighting

Irrigation Works is the fifth brand entity to be added to the GW Capital portfolio.

Irrigation Works + Outdoor Lighting, a residential and commercial irrigation repair and installation service company in Cleveland, is introducing itself to Northeast Ohio. This announcement comes at a time of growth for GW Capital, a Cleveland-based management group for all current and future operating businesses owned by Tony Nasrallah. Irrigation Works is the fifth brand entity to be added to the GW Capital portfolio. The new company operates independently but serves as a supporting role to Nasrallah’s first business, Ground Works Land Design, a landscape and design firm in Westlake.

“GW Capital will continue to focus on vertical integration amongst its family of brands to create business opportunities for existing and new clientele,” says Tony Nasrallah, president of GW Capital. “We’ve been listening to our customer requests and the demand for dedicated irrigation technicians is there. Launching this business allows us to bring yet another service in-house.”

Prior to Irrigation Works, Ground Works business model didn’t support new service requests, and almost all irrigation labor that was booked was subcontracted to local companies. Avon-based Platinum Irrigation LLC, owned and operated by Jon Clodwick, performed a majority of the contracted work in the 2022 outdoor season. In an effort to maintain a healthy working relationship, GW Capital purchased Platinum Irrigation LLC and hired Clodwick as the first employee under the Irrigation Works company name.

“An allied approach allows me to continue working with my client base as I help grow a new brand through my years of local experience,” says Clodwick. “The additional bandwidth, proven systems and financial backing from GW Capital make it easy to provide our customers with a hassle-free experience resulting in a long-term water-saving outcome.”

Primary company services are focused on custom design, installation and maintenance of efficient irrigation systems. The team will continue to install new systems and now has the capacity to answer scheduled services calls. In addition to these calls, Irrigation Works offers system turn-ons, winterization and backflow testing, which is an Ohio required reading that must be reported to the state on an annual basis. More technical services include smart controller upgrades, and system expansion and installation, while working with the top performing products in the industry, including Hunter and Rain Bird. The team predicts that the custom service packages will be the most popular among their residential clients. Split into four cost saving options, the Basic, Plus, Full, and Works offer yearlong attention comprised of the most popular services.

While irrigation installations and service calls will keep the team busy, the company was strategically constructed to efficiently accept outdoor lighting and drainage requests as well. For easy checkout and seamless user experience, Irrigation Works collaborated with online payment tool stripe.

“A technology forward approach helps reform the industry, provides an unrivaled customer experience, and makes the business model scalable,” Nasrallah says. “That’s what we want to do, provide more local jobs and continue to grow.”

In addition to Jon Clodwick, the Irrigation Works team is made up of a second irrigation technician and an in-office dispatcher. Two electric branded vehicles and state-of-the-art equipment will allow the team to offer innovative and sustainable solutions to Greater Cleveland.
