Horizon Distributors expands Technical Services team into Northern California

Leading the expansion is Pat Johnston, irrigation product manager for Horizon.

Horizon Distributors, a full-service wholesale distributor of irrigation and landscape maintenance products, has expanded its Horizon Technical Services team into Northern California.

A team of three technicians have completed extensive training on a range of sensor-based control systems as well as onsite project management and will be servicing the Bay Area, Sacramento Valley and Central Valley.

“After several decades of success in the southwest, we are expanding our Horizon Technical Services offering first to California and then to the rest of our network,” says Phil Stephens, vice president of Horizon.  “While we have served other markets over the years, we haven’t had dedicated technician support in the field.  So we are taking the expertise we have honed in Arizona and disseminating it across our footprint.”

Leading the expansion is Pat Johnston, irrigation product manager for Horizon and long-time leader for Horizon Technical Services. Johnston was instrumental in developing Horizon’s Rain Safe Enclosure Assembly and its Solar Solution.

“Our focus isn’t just water management, it’s resource management – water, energy and labor," Johnston says. "Our goal is to offer sustainable solutions grounded in fiscal reality.”

The Horizon Technical Services team uses booster pumps, solar methods, fertilizer injectors, 2-wire controllers and central control systems to provide conservation solutions. In addition, they offer specialized programs such as surge protection testing and certification, weather station maintenance and central irrigation control computer maintenance to ensure consistent operation.

The Horizon Rain Safe Enclosure Assembly provides complete protection for an irrigation control system. Horizon's Solar Solution is part of the Horizon Rain Safe program. Horizon Technical Services will assemble all of the electrical, irrigation/lighting components into a customized enclosure for an onsite installation.
