Keynote Speaker to Address Approaches to Water Management
Dr. Peter H. Gleick will be the keynote speaker at the 2008 Irrigation Show General Session Nov. 3. Dr. Gleick will cover new water management and use approaches to meet global requirements for safe drinking water, adequate sanitation, agriculture and environmental protection.
As the co-founder and president of the Pacific Institute for Studies in Development, Environment & Security, Dr. Gleick is a recognized expert on the critical connections between water and human health, the hydrologic impacts of
climate change and international conflicts over water resources.
New Product Contest Deadline Extended to Sept. 5
The deadline to submit new and innovative products to the 2008 Exhibitor New Product Contest has been extended until Sept. 5. Applications are accepted in four categories; agriculture, golf, specialty or turf/landscape. One winner in each category will receive an award, free industry publicity, and recognition in the 2009 Membership Directory and Buyers’ Guide.

New IA Brand To Be Unveiled at Irrigation Show 2008
The Irrigation Association will launch its new visual identity at the 2008
Irrigation Show.
The new logo and brand will better:
• Communicate the IA’s role in bringing industry stakeholders together to define
and implement water management best practices.
• Support expanded efforts to promote efficient irrigation and the importance
of working with irrigation experts.
• Enhance IA’s credibility with policy makers at the local, state, regional and
national level.
• Unify the association’s major programs, including certification and the
Irrigation Show.
The new identity will be unveiled Nov. 3 during the general session.
IAEF Silent Auction Seeking Donations
Interested in helping a worthy cause? Donate an item to the IA Education Foundation’s silent auction at the 2008 Irrigation Show. All proceeds will be used to promote irrigation careers and develop education programs. Suggested donations include sporting event tickets, spa packages and timeshare use.
