CLEVELAND - Edward Wallace, owner, Midwest Landscaping, Long Beach, Calif., is the winner of the Lawn & Landscape online sweepstakes for January.
Wallace, who offers restoration, interiorscaping and water feature design and installation services to residential and commercial accounts, has been in business for 13 years. Up until now, he has only used generic software in putting together design plans and concepts for clients. Because the majority of his projects involve restoration, the software is mainly used to show customers what plant material will be eliminated from their landscape and where the new designs will be incorporated.
“I use the software to show the customer how I plan to change things around,” he explained. “It’s expensive to hire an architect to come in and come up with a concept, so the software makes it simple.”
With the Visual Impact Imaging software, Wallace hopes to add speed and efficiency to his operation because the software is specifically designed for the landscape contractor.
“I spend a lot of time on the computer now because I have an older program,” Wallace acknowledged. “The software will help make me more efficient in getting design concepts to clients.”
