TORRANCE, Calif. – Kubota Tractor Corp. (KTC) reported recently that it has reached a retail milestone, announcing the sale of its 1 millionth Kubota unit sold in the United States. Gary Pittman, owner of a 1,200-acre farm in Millsap, Texas near Dallas, recently purchased a Kubota M125X, marking the 1 millionth Kubota unit sold.

Kubota’s model M125X was the company’s premier entry into the 100+ PTO hp market and was sold to Pittman by Kubota Dealer Ellis Topline Equipment in Weatherford, Texas. “We’ve been selling Kubota products for 25 years, and we are excited to be the dealer who sold Kubota’s millionth unit,” said Steve Watson, president of Ellis Topline Equipment. “Gary (Pittman) has purchased multiple Kubota products from our store, and we’re pleased to see this unit sold to a previous Kubota owner.”
Kubota tells Lawn & Landscape that selling its millionth unit was not a specific goal for 2005. “The sale of the millionth unit was a result of the strength of our outstanding dealer network combined with Kubota’s commitment to offer quality, high-performing, durable products that serve our customers well,” says Tamara Youdbulis, lawn and turf product manager for Kubtoa. “Our goal is always to strive to be the best in the industry at providing state-of-the-art, quality products to our customers. As we work toward selling our 2 millionth unit in years to come, we will promise innovative technology in another quality product.”
“I purchase Kubota equipment because the products work well and are very efficient,” notes Pittman. “I was delighted to hear that I had been the purchaser of Kubota’s 1millionth unit.” Pittman owns several Kubota products including a ZD21 mower, M9000 tractor, RTV900 utility vehicle, and his new purchase, the M125X.
Kubota Tractor Corp. presented Pittman with a gift in recognition of this important milestone – a “Thanks a Million” travel award to one of 10 resorts or cruises, including round-trip airfare and a Kubota merchandise gift certificate.
“We’re very proud of our 1 millionth sale,” says Greg Embury, Kubota vice president of sales and marketing. “The sale of 1 million Kubotas since KTC’s beginnings in the United States in 1972 is the result of the strength of our outstanding dealer network combined with Kubota’s commitment to offer quality, high-performing, durable products that serve our customers well.”
Kubota Tractor Corp. is the United States marketer and distributor of Kubota-branded equipment including a complete line of tractors up to 103 PTO horsepower, performance-matched implements, compact construction equipment, consumer lawn and garden equipment, commercial turf products and utility vehicles.
