A 41-year-old Pensacola-area man facing charges after a landscaper rescued two children from an abusive situation, according to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office.
Adam J. Phillips was arrested on a charge of aggravated child abuse in connection with the March 11 incident at a home in the Springfield Subdivision near Pensacola, according to the arrest report. He is accused of beating and throwing the children, and cutting and strangling one of them.
According to the arrest report, two landscapers were working nearby when one of the landscapers reported hearing loud banging and screaming coming from a residence, then saw a boy run out of the home screaming. Phillips took the boy to a neighbors house and returned to see Phillips throwing a girl out of the residence by the hair and neck, the report states.
