As Elin Miller departs to pursue personal interest, Lewis comes in as head of the company's North American business.

Arysta LifeScience announced last month that Bill Lewis has been named business unit head of Arysta LifeScience North America, replacing Elin Miller who is leaving the company for Lewis will report to Chris Richards, Arysta LifeScience president and CEO, and replaces Elin Miller.

“I have greatly enjoyed the experiences in leading this organization successfully, and for personal reasons, I am moving on,” Miller said. “Arysta had a tremendous year in 2005 on top of the successes of 2004 and have grown the profitability of the North American business eight fold.  This growth along with a successful headquarters move allows my husband, Bill and me to explore the next exciting steps in our lives.”

In taking Miller’s place, Lewis will report to Arysta LifeScience President and CEO Chris Richards. “Bill brings extensive industry experience and has demonstrated his ability to deliver business results,” Richards said. “His global experience combined with prior leadership of the U.S., Canada and Mexico is the perfect match with our company’s direction.”

Lewis joins Arysta LifeScience from Syngenta Crop Protection, where he was vice president of Professional Products and Regional Business for NAFTA and was responsible for the P&L of five non-Ag businesses in the U.S., and the businesses in Canada and Mexico. Prior to that, Lewis was director of horticulture business in the U.S. and Canada, general manager of the UK and Ireland, business manager for Central Europe and regional business manager for the Western U.S. for Zeneca Agrochemicals, which merged into Syngenta. Other experience includes ICI Americas Ag Products and USDA-APHIS.

“Under Elin Miller’s leadership, our North America business has grown even faster than our targets,” Richards said. “We greatly appreciate her contributions to the company as well as her efforts in relocating the North America headquarters from San Francisco to our new location in Cary, N.C.”

Miller will be assisting Lewis in his transition. “I have known Bill Lewis for about 20 years and he will serve Arysta well,” she said. “Arysta has a great team and I am confident that they will continue to be successful.”

Currently, Arysta is in the process of relocating its company headquarters from San Francisco, Calif., to Research Triangle Park, N.C., and also is preparing to participate in the Golf Course Industry Show next week. Lawn & Landscape plans to speak with Lewis about his new position and outlook for the company once this busy time settles. Visit Lawn & Landscape Online to check for updates in the coming weeks.
