Landscape Workshop acquires Henkel Denmark

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama – Landscape Workshop recently completed the acquisition of Henkel Denmark, based in Lexington, Kentucky. With this expansion into Kentucky, Landscape Workshop will now have nine branch locations throughout the Southeast.

Henkel Denmark was founded by Bill Henkel and Gordon Denmark in 1999. In addition to commercial landscape maintenance, Henkel Denmark’s diverse portfolio also includes residential landscape maintenance, as well as a landscape construction division. Henkel Denmark's revenue was $5.9 million in 2016 and the company has roughly 40 employees. 

“We were introduced to Landscape Workshop by a mutual customer and were excited by their commitment to professionalism and customer service, as well as their strong value driven culture, which are the foundations on which we built Henkel Denmark,” said Denmark. “It was important that we find a partner that possesses the same driving values of integrity and performance, and one that makes considerable investments in the development of their team. Landscape Workshop was a perfect fit.”

As a result of the acquisition, Henkel Denmark will be rebranded as Landscape Workshop. Henkel and Denmark will both stay on at the combined firm, with Denmark becoming general manager of Lexington Maintenance and Henkel becoming general manager of Lexington Construction.

Landscape Workshop ranked as the 54th largest company on Lawn & Landscape’s Top 100 list in 2017, making about $29 million in revenue. The company plans to expand its presence in the Southeast through the Henkel and Denmark acquisition, and it’s fully committed to providing high-quality service and proactive management to all existing and new customers.
