KENT, Ohio - The Davey Tree Expert announced the promotion of Scott Maco (left), Anand Persad (right) and Mike Binkley (bottom) within the Davey Institute on Tuesday.
Scott Maco has been promoted to Director of Research and Development. Maco has worked for Davey for nine years. Before coming to Davey, Maco was a research forester for the USDA Forest Service’s Pacific Southwest Research Station. Now, he leads development of the i-Tree Tools software. Maco received his Bachelor of Science degree in urban forestry from the College of Forest Resources, University of Washington, and a Master of Science degree in horticulture and agronomy from the University of California, Davis.
Anand Persad, Ph.D., has been promoted to Manager of Plant Sciences Research. Persad has been with the Davey Tree Expert Company for more than 11 years. He serves as technical representative for Davey as well as leads Davey’s arboriculture research of biomechanics and invasive exotic pests. Persad received his Ph.D., Master of Science and Bachelor of Science degrees from the University of West Indies.
Mike Binkley (right) has been promoted to the Davey Institute’s Manager of Technology Development. Binkley started with the company in 1997 as a member of the Davey Resource Group where he became Supervisor of GIS services. He holds a Bachelor of Science with Honors degree in Natural Resource Conservation with minors in climatology and geography, from Kent State University. With a Master of Arts in geography from Kent State University, his knowledge and understanding of technology and industry needs have produced new services and capabilities from the Davey Institute.
“Our goal is to deliver innovative industry leadership and enhance the Davey brand through research, extension and outreach,” said Vice President and General Manager of the Davey Institute Greg Ina. “These three have, and will, continue to play an integral role in reaching these goals.”
