Monrovia, which provides ornamental and landscaping plants, has made several leadership changes at key positions at its nurseries.
Brett Cromly is now the general manager of the Oregon Nursery. Cromly previously led the company’s Georgia location as General Manager and will be bringing key learnings from his role there to Monrovia’s flagship nursery.
“In his nearly 4 years leading the Cairo, Georgia, operation, Brett elevated the quality of plants and data-driven production planning of that nursery. I’m excited to see him bring that experience to Oregon,” says President and CEO Jonathan Pedersen.
Cromly began working for Monrovia in 2017, first as an inside sales representative. He was quickly promoted to regional sales manager at the Georgia nursery, and then he became the general manager of the nursery in 2021. His deep understanding of both sales and production have helped fuel growth and improvements in quality at that nursery. “Brett is a change leader who understands how to balance competing priorities and stay focused on what’s most important: growing the highest quality plants in the industry,” Pedersen says.
Greg Rusow, the most recent general manager of the Oregon nursery, will be moving into a new role as vice president of production practices across all nurseries. During his long tenure with Monrovia, Rusow has previously served as general manager at all three Monrovia nurseries.
“He instills a culture of excellence in growing practices and understands the unique opportunities and challenges in every region,” Pedersen says. Although still based in Oregon, Rusow will be traveling frequently to the other nurseries to advise on best practices in growing techniques.
Scott Andrews is returning to Monrovia as the general manager of the Georgia Nursery. With nearly 14 years of experience at that location, Andrews will help continue expanding the nursery’s plant selection to meet market demands.
“I’m thrilled to return to the Cairo, Georgia nursery as general manager. My time away has deepened my appreciation for this wonderful team and reinforced my commitment to the success of both the nursery and the Craftsmen, as we continue to grow and thrive together,” Andrews says.
Toni Bielli will be moving back to Monrovia’s California nursery as its new regional sales manager. Bielli was previously an inside sales representative in the California region, and in recent years served as the nursery’s national senior account manager for its Lowe’s business. “Toni’s knowledge and experience with our California nursery and its market runs deep. She is a strategic customer partner skilled at leading her teams to excellence,” says Vice President of Sales Ted McDonald.
“Using the talents of our team to their full potential is critical to our success,” Pederson says. “We are very excited about the opportunities these new roles create for our team and our future.”
