Sprinturf Named Official Provider of Kansas City Chiefs

The turf supplier will construct the field using its signature Ultrablade DF and an all-rubber infill.

Sprinturf was named the official turf supplier for the Kansas City Chiefs and has contracted to provide a synthetic turf football field at the new Harry S. Truman Sports Complex.

“We have chosen Sprinturf as a partner to the Kansas City Chiefs organization and it’s been a pleasure working with the entire Sprinturf team throughout the process," says Kansas City Chiefs President/General Manager/CEO, Carl D. Peterson. "We are excited about the new project and after much evaluation, are confident that Sprinturf is the best product for our facility.”

The construction of this field is part of the Chiefs’ reconstruction initiative for their expanded practice facility and the new Arrowhead Stadium. Sprinturf will construct the field using its signature Ultrablade DF and an all-rubber infill.

Sprinturf recently announced that is has also become the exclusive synthetic turf provider of the National Football Foundation and College Football Hall of Fame.  Sprinturf also honored scholar-athletes from around the nation in December at the 2007 College Football Hall of Fame Awards Dinner and joined in honoring such legends as Roger Staubach, Joe Paterno, Ahmad Rashad and others.

“Sprinturf Ultrablade DF is the ideal choice for a multi-use field because the playability is much like that of natural grass in pristine conditions," says Bruce Cheskin, senior vice president responsible for product development and safety at Sprinturf. "The all-rubber infill provides firm footing yet quick release and turn action while still ensuring that the G-max levels (a measure of surface hardness), are well below the guidelines of the Synthetic Turf Council in regards to concussions and injury."

Ground breaking on the Kansas City Chiefs field will begin in the early part of Summer, 2008.
