Symbiot Business Group, Draper, Utah, welcomes Michael Edwards as its new CEO.
Edwards brings more than 23 years of experience to his new post. Before joining Symbiot, he served as global property development officer for Intel Corp. Previously, Edwards was director and executive assistant to the CEO of McDonnell Douglas Corp. and a member of the new facility start-up team for PepsiCo.
“Mike brings significant experience from the asset owner/developer perspective to Symbiot, which complements the strong service provider experience of our existing management team,” says Symbiot Chairman Steve Glover. “Mike’s operational experience at large multi-nationals like PepsiCo, McDonnell Douglas and Intel will enhance our ongoing integration of the Snow Management Group into Symbiot.“
Edwards says he will take advantage of the opportunity to influence and accelerate the integration of the property services supply chain. “I was very impressed with the size and reach of the Symbiot network, which are competitive advantages," he says.
The change in leadership was effective July 5 and occurs at a planned transition point for Symbiot. During the past 18 month, Bruce Wilson has functioned as CEO and Steve Glover as chairman, leading the company from $2.1 million in annual revenue to a projected $20.8 million by the end of 2005. The business closed more than $6 million in venture funding and lending and completed the development of multiple service networks.
Wilson and Glover, who were recruited specifically for this short period of time, plan to resume their previous level of involvement with Symbiot. Wilson will continue with Symbiot as a member of its board of directors and Glover as chairman of the board.
Symbiot Business Group benefits national and multi-regional asset managers by delivering the efficiencies of multiple property services with national reach and pricing. To date, Symbiot has developed consortiums in the landscaping, interior, snow and pest industries, representing nearly 1,000 partner companies.
