The best of 2020

We’re taking a look back at some of the most viewed stories of the year on our website.

2020 was a wild ride. Regardless, we wanted to recap some of our most viewed stories of the year.

The last 12 issues of Lawn & Landscape were all filled with great articles, but subscribers especially enjoyed reading about the latest aerators, lighting trends and making outdoor living spaces more enjoyable.

This year’s Top 100 list was popular as were stories about some of the companies who made the list – including Kansas City-based HeartLand.

Readers also enjoyed our cover stories including our August issue, which featured Clayton Graham who took over the family business after his father was diagnosed with cancer and doubled the size of Sundance Landscape Maintenance in three years.

And, of course, we cannot recap 2020 without mentioning COVID-19 and all the chaos it caused. Throughout the year, Lawn & Landscape conducted several surveys to gauge how companies were handling things. Early on, we interviewed contractors from across the country and heard how closures and other unexpected occurrences impacted their businesses. We even added a coronavirus page to our website to share the latest COVID-19 news from around the industry.

All in all, 2020 was a tough year for many, but the green industry’s resilience was more prevalent than ever.
