MaxxThor EC from Ensystex features the Power of Bifenthrin and is effective against over 75 different pests. The active ingredient in all Maxxthor products is bifenthrin, a second generation synthetic pyrethroid highly effective against a wide range of pests. Some other pyrethroids can cause irritation. This is because some pyrethroid molecules contain an alpha-cyano structure which is associated with irritation problems. The bifenthrin molecule does not contain an alpha-cyano structure. Bifenthrin has the longest life of any current termiticide in Forest Service testing. This is due in part to the biphenyl structure contained in the bifenthrin molecule, a structure that is unique ti the bifenthrin molecule among currently registered pyrethroids.
